Commissioned by National Concerts for premiere at Carnegie Hall, February 16, 2020, Dr. Jeffery Redding, conductor
Do you have a place to go,
is somebody there you know who
only wants to see you laugh and smile?
A space of security,
there's no where else I long to be,
a house of love that makes it all worth while?
When I'm at home, I'm at peace
and all my worries cease.
No place I'd rather be than here
with family in my home.
There are times in life I find
nothing seems to work out right and
I don't know which way to look or turn...
all of life's complexities
stir up special memories of a
restful home and that is what I yearn.
I feel the love that I’m shown, it's the
greatest thing I've ever known. No place I'd
rather be than here with family in my home.
where I am free to simply be
Friends and family, a place where I belong is the
beauty of what I call home.
Just like rain the love keeps fallin' on me,
my home, my community.
When I am there, I have no care,
love a bounds, happiness all a round, my home
There's no place I'd rather be
than my home!
